When Something Gets in the Way… Move It!
This post was written on April 7th, 2011A few days ago I posted about the cute magazine files that I made. They were made to hold my food magazines for a cabinet in my kitchen. The same cabinet that holds my coffee beans & filters, so it’s opened on a regular basis. The thing is, the door to the cabinet drives me nuts! Every single morning when I go to make coffee I almost hit my head with the door. It’s just an awkward spot.
So I took the cabinet door off.
So the stuff on the inside needed to look cute.
Annoying cabinet door. Pretty… but annoying.
Not pretty, but useful and organized
1. My new magazine files! 2. Recipe binder that I added coordinating patterned paper to match 3. Other recipe binders that I added patterned paper to the binding only. Just so it’s pretty from this view. 4. A second magazine file to hold future Food Network magazines, my baking labels, and extra recipe cards
5. My newly painted coffee basket, it was red… now a bright and cheerful orange! 6. The extra cookbooks that I don’t use as regularly and a pitcher that I painted with Girl this summer at a pottery place.

I love how you took the cabinet door off! I want to do this so bad but need to do some things with the inside stuff first!
Love how colorful it all is!! I want that too!!

I made the things inside “pretty” before taking the door off. It’s the only cabinet I could commit to keeping everything looking nice.

We have a cabinet like that in our house that I would LOVE to remove the door from. Love the fun colors and the usefulness you made from it!

Cute! Love that idea!
All my cabinet doors are super flippin ugly…. Maybe I should just take them ALL off…. Hhhmmm – I wonder what Hubs would think of that! lol

When I asked my husband how easy it was to take the cabinet doors off, he looked at me with his eyebrow raised and hesitantly asked “um… why?” LOL! I think he was afraid I was going to take them all off.

Wow, that looks great! I never thought about making my ugly binders pretty with paper! So simple! I also love the orange basket and pitcher, they looks great with the fabrics on the magazine holders.

I love that! I love the colors…heck I love the cabinetry–can I have the old door?
We have it in our “future home plans” to completely redo the kitchen-it needs it!

I love our cabinets too, but this door just kept getting in the way. I’ll store it in a very safe place because my mind changes constantly…. I’m sure next year I’ll decide to put it back on.
