New Years: Changing Tradition

This post was written on January 1st, 2011

So I didn’t completely stick to tradition this year. Last minute I decided to get out for a bit and attend a neighborhood party. This broken foot has kept me so house bound that I was getting stir crazy. I knew my kids would appreciate a break from me, as I’d appreciate one from them.

I put on makeup for the first time in over a week. So I thought I’d share it here for proof that Sugar Mama isn’t always a slouchy mess on New Year’s Eve (but 12 out of 14 years I have been). The party was fun. I drank champagne, ate a few goodies, and sat back while my friends served me since I couldn’t carry anything with the crutches. When the clock struck 10:30 it was time for me to head home to the people I love and care about the most. And guess what…

I STILL didn’t stay up until midnight! About 11:15 I crashed. I don’t know what it is… any other night I can stay up. So Sugar Daddy got pictures of the kids ringing in the new year and he spent the night playing the Wii & Yahtzee with them. They had a great time without me. And that’s okay. I’m learning to let go of the control.

Bring on 2011!

I’m blushing. :) I hope there are no more hospital visits! Glad to have “met” you as well. I think if we were neighbors we’d hang out. ;)
