A Dog’s Moods

This post was written on October 19th, 2010

Our poor little Bichon gets called so many different names depending on the mood of our family. Sugar Daddy rarely calls him by his given name but instead calls him “sh#t head”, “stupid ass”, dumb sh#t”….. well, you get the idea. But he’s a good dog. And he has many moods of his own.

I often wonder how it affects him being called “her” and “she” all of the time by other people. They just assume that since he’s white and fluffy that he’s female. Wrong. He is ALL boy. Hang out at our place for just a short time and you’ll quickly figure that out.

His many moods:

Feisty

Protective

Irritated

(he just overheard someone refer to him as “she”, see the furrowed brows?)

Playful

Sweet

(he is inside the sleeve of one of my several Snuggies)

Happy 5th Anniversary with our family sweet dog! It hasn’t always been easy, and we almost lost you forever, but we’ve grown to love you. You’re home is always with us.

He is SOOO cute! Don’t they make Snuggies for dogs by now?

They do! And he has a blue one (rolling eyes) that Teen bought for him. I don’t know if dressing in outfits helps his cause of being a “manly” dog.

What a cutie patootie (and I mean that in the most masculine way possible)! I’m one of the guilty ones. All Pyrenees are girls because they look like my Ellie. And all Bernese Mountain Dogs are boys because they look like my Jake. All poodles are girls because they’re too froofy to be otherwise (sorry…the Bichon is lumped in with poodles in my brain). Rotties are boys because they’re so tough and rugged. You get the drift. I’m a DOG person and I still make those jumps, even though it’s totally illogical. :)

I’m the same way…. I do it all of the time. All weiner dogs are boys to me because boys are weiners. ;o)

    Whoa. Wait a minute…
    You own a Snuggie?

    SugarMama Reply:

LOL!!! ROFLMAO!!!! Yes, in fact, I own THREE! Sugar Daddy was sick of hearing me complain how cold my arms and hands get when I read, so he kept buying them for me. I have one in pink, green, and blue. Jealous??? ;o)

What a little precious! Great photos- love the snuggie one! I totally feel you on the ‘he’ vs. ‘she’ thing. We have a Jack Russel/Papillon mix and HE gets mistaken all the time. He has a big fluffy tail and people always think he’s a girl :)
